About this item
A fine Georgian silver oil and vinegar cruet stand set on four cast scallop shell feet. A feather moulded thumb rest to the handle and a vacant shield shaped cartouche on the front. The cut glass bottles have removeable silver covers that sit in the circular rings at the sides of the stand for pouring. Hallmarked to the base for London 1757, maker Jabez Daniell. The silver tops are unmarked as is common.
It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4") wide, by 10cm (4") deep. The silver weighs 368g / 11.8ozt. Total weight 796g.
Condition is very good. One of the bottles has two small nicks to the rim and there has been a small repair to the back right leg at the underside of the stand which is only visible from below and can be seen in the photograph of the hallmarks. Minor handling wear only. The cartouche is vacant with no obvious sign of any previous engraving.
