A Victorian silver gilt purse, Thomas Johnston, London 1874
An exceptionally rare and beautiful silver gilt purse with a navy blue leather interior. Made in London by Thomas Johnson in 1874. The gilt body is cast with flying birds and flowers, there is also pseudo clip on the front. The suspension chain also has a finger ring and there are full sets of hall marks on the base. The clasp closes tightly and overall the purse is in excellent condition with only slight rubbing to the gilding on the high points.
