About this item
This is an English silver pocket watch with a fusee chain driven movement. These types of movements are extremely fragile and it is very easy to break the fusee chain if you have never handled one of these watches before and so consequently we do not cover this costly repair in the warranty.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate fusee movement has a lever escapement with a gold balance wheel. The movement is signed “John Walker, 68 Cornhill, 230 Regent Street & 76 Strand, London, 8717”. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case which has a hinged inner and back and a snap on bezel. The watch is key wound and key set from the back which is unusual for a fusee watch. The back cover pops open to 90 degrees when you press the button in on the stem. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “John Walker, 8717”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 48mm wide x 12mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an antique watch key
