About this item
Super little silver whistle with match compartment and striker combination. A very practical piece, the opening compartment is gilded and of good size and it has a suspension loop to hang on a chain or lanyard.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1905, maker's mark is rubbed.
It measures 6cm (2 3/8") long, 2.2cm (7/8") wide and 1.7cm (5/8") deep. It weighs 17g/0.5ozt.
Condition is very good; no damage or repairs, a couple of pinprick marks on the back and light surface wear (maker's mark is rubbed, the other marks are clear). The vesta cover closes with a crisp snap and the whistle sounds very well with what appears to be it's original pea.
