    About this item

George I miniature silver brandy warming pan by specialist miniature silver toy maker David Clayton. Of typical bound bellied form with pouring lip and applied side handle with turned wood terminal.

Marked to the base with the lion passant and the DC initials for David Clayton. These are partially rubbed but identifiable. There is no date mark as is common but it likely dates for c.1725.

It measures 7cm (2 3/4") at the widest point to the handle, 4cm (1 1/2") across the belly, 3cm (1 1/8") high to the pan rim and 4cm (1 5/8") high to the handle. It weighs 14g/0.4ozt.

Condition is very good but with a few points to note. There has been a repair to the handle join site, probably reattached. There is minimal sign externally of this (the marks in the photographs are just reflections from the handle I'm afraid) but more evidence inside as you can see in the photos. Slight distortion to the rim in places. 2 small splits at the base of the handle caused by the pins; these are very small and appear stable. No dents and surface wear is light.
