    About this item

This is a rather smart Georgian silver riding spur, hallmarked for London in 1784. The articulated chain fittings retain the original silver buckle and clasp for attachment to the leather strap. It is missing the iron rowel. The hallmarks are deeply punched and the maker's mark is hard to read, this appears to be B.C.  Inside the spur are the owner's initials of I.W. The size of the spur would suggest a child. A rare item!
