About this item
A really beautiful and fine quality circular silver dressing table mirror with plain polished raised rims and raised domed centre section with embossed and engraved decoration of flowers, foliage and scrolls. The glass has a bevelled edge and with a dark blue velvet back with easel support.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1900, maker William Devenport.
It measures 28.3cm (11 1/8") wide across the frame. Standing it measures 25.5cm (10") high and 16.5cm (6 1/2") front to back.
Condition is excellent with no damage, dents or repairs. The velvet back has been well replaced. The glass may be original as it shows some signs of age with tonal mottling in places. Surface wear is very light, the maker's mark is slightly rubbed but the others are fine as is the decoration. It has a set of ornate engraved initials to the top.
