    About this item

A fine and collectible late Victorian silver pen nib and ruler wipe modelled as a boot scraper with hinged handles to either side. Set on its original leather base. Hallmarked for London 1898, makers Sampson Mordan & co.

A larger example than many, it measures 8cm (3 1/8") wide and 2.5cm (1") high.

In very good condition with one upper corner of the silver only very fractionally distorted and minor rubbing to the edge of the hallmarks. The leather base shows expected signs of wear but the bristles remain in very good order.
