About this item
This is a Swiss pocket watch made by the watch house Tavannes circa 1920
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Tavannes Watch Co, 17 Jewels, Adjusted” and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and front bezel. The case has clear silver marks. The back of the case has been engraved with a fine line pattern and then enamelled with black enamel called niello. The case is also decorated with niello on the stem and bow. The case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the champagne coloured metal dial is double sunk. The outer chapter ring has a brushed finish with black enamel numbers and the centre is decorated with fine engine turning. The dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 10mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
