About this item
This is a short two-piece thimble with its surface covered in small dimples. The lower section of the body is detailed with a pelleted band, above are a series of foliate scrolls and two putti supporting a pair of hearts, engraved with the initials, A A. Above the hearts is a makers mark (H within a shield). Ref: Read, B. 2018: Metal Sewing Thimbles Found in Britain, Figure 28.
