About this item
This pretty sterling silver hand mirror and brush set has been decorated with an engined turned pattern to the back within a border of stylised flower heads. They are then edged with a beaded motif. Each piece is centred with a round cartouche for the owners initials - these are blank. The mirror, which has a bevelled edge to the glass, is 280 mm (11 Inches) in length and has a width of 140 mm (5.5 inches) , whilst the brush is 260 mm (10.25 inches) long and 83 mm (3.5 inches) wide. They were made by William Aitken of Birmingham, with the brush carrying the hallmark for 1915 and the brush for 1916. They are both in very good condition.
