About this item
A Silver Toast Rack with 7 Dividers. We believe that this dates from the Victorian era but made in the Georgian style. Once the property of my grandfather Ali Bey (David Lemmy) the great Illusionist of the post war era. He collected notable objet d’art during the 1930-50 period. It has been unused for two generations which may explain why the hallmark cartouches are illegible and thorough cleaning might reveal more. Unusually, it is marked 922, fractionally different to the normal 925 Sterling. It is in very good condition; the end bars are slightly bent and probably easily remedied. It is missing a foot (perhaps he made it disappear) although stands perfectly well.
