    About this item

This is an excavated silver finger ring, dating to the Baroque period of the 17th century. The outer band is decorated with diagonal grooves, imitating a rope twist effect. The inside of the band is uninscribed, nor bears any makers marks.  The ring is intact, though the seam has failed (can be resoldered).  Similar rings have been dated from the 15th - 17th century (on the database), I would date this piece to the mid 17th century based on the site and associated coinage.
