    About this item

A rare George II English Provincial silver lidded tankard, made in Newcastle in 1757 by John Langlands. The tankard has a full set of Newcastle hallmarks and a part set on the lid and handle. There are also a set of original engraved initials on the handle. The handle has a heart on the bottom and good strong hinge on the top. In general the tankard is in excellent condition with no repairs, there a couple of tiny soft dings which are comensurate with the age. A stunning piece of Georgian silver and a very collectable piece.
