    Pair of Arts & Crafts,  W.A.S. Benson ‘cafe au lait’ coffee and milk ‘handled’ jugs. Electroplated copper of low-waisted baluster shape with raised dome foot, beaked pouring spouts and ebony side handles. Designed to pour both milk and coffee at the same time as was the fashion of the day. One with finial of ebony, the other of ivory. Stamped with maker’s mark of BENSON, Benson’s logo of three hammers between the initials W.A.S.B with the letters M N, which may well be the initials of the individual coppersmith. The registration No. 398954 to the bases indicate the date of 1902.
