    About this item

An impressive and expansive, antique, rare double-ended daybed. It has been fully-restored by our skilled tradespeople using time-honoured techniques.

Hours of work were spent bringing this daybed back to life. It has been re-webbed and has fresh cotton felt and FR calico. The wood has been cleaned and French polished, then waxed and buffed to perfection.

It has been reupholstered in a luxurious Pierre Frey linen and features a squab cushion (feather-over-foam) and beautiful, feather filled bolsters, in Guy Goodfellow fabric, finished with Houlès trim and rosettes.

The house of Pierre Frey, which remains family-owned, was founded in 1935 and is still headquartered at the same building, near the Palais Royale.

Throughout the years, Pierre Frey has expanded to include Boussac, Le Manach, Fadini Borghi and Braquenie. In addition to exquisite fabrics, their range spans carpets, furniture and wallpaper.

Guy Goodfellow’s collection has evolved from bespoke fabric designs created for many of his interior projects over the past decade. Antique documents, reimagined design classics and commissioned work from new designers are the sources of inspiration behind this timeless collection.

Houlès designs and creates the finest of trimmings and fabrics. Still family-owned, the company was established in Paris, by father and son Félix and André Houlès, in 1928. The company, which began with one store at 18 rue Saint-Nicolas, is now established in over 160 countries.

Presidential residences and castles, such as le Château de Versailles, often select Houlès’ passements for their restoration projects.
