A highly sought-after, mid-century “Put-u-up” Style sofa-bed by Greaves & Thomas. English circa 1960.

All our furniture is fully restored and reupholstered before being offered for sale. In this instance, the sofa has been completely re-built from the frame up, with fresh fire-compliant foam, new padding and fire-retardant calico.

The new upholstery is an exquisite fabric from Métaphores, Paris. Inspired by the world of fashion, ‘Deauville’ is a beautifully textured wool and linen bouclé. it has a stain repellent treatment. An innovator in weaving and fabrics edition for interior design, Métaphores is a celebrated brand, inspiring and contemporary, belonging to Hermès’ textile division.

Greaves & Thomas, founded in the 1900s, is a furniture brand that is sought-after for its high-quality and streamlined design aesthetic. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company worked with the best designers; one of the most famous of these was Walter Cornell. His designs were influenced by Scandinavian simplicity and clean, elegant lines.
