ANTIQUE CHILDS ALPHABET ABC MUG
G IS FOR GOOSE
H IS FOR HORSE
Staffordshire England
c. 1840
This 2 3/4 " high x 2 7/8 " wide, excluding the applied handle, childrens mug is transfer printed in dark chocolate brown with a pearlware glaze.
One side has an upper and lower case letter ~ G ~ with a Goose or Gander, a Goat, a Gate, Grapes and a Gun.
The other side of the mug has an upper and lower case ~ H ~ with a Horse, House, Hound, Horn, and a Hive of bees.
G stands for Gander, for Goose, and for Gift
H begins Horse whose paces are swift.
The mug is in excellent condition with a pearlware glaze and a fine turned base.
