About this item
An excellent example of an early Staffordshire figure....the "shepherd boy" carrying a lost or injured lamb....he is standing on a raised rocky plinth and in front of a tree which is in full leaf....what is nice about this figure, is that it is in original condition with no restoration and the colours are still vibrant....it is of the quality of Enoch Wood or his cousin Ralph Wood, who had potteries at Burslem in Staffordshire, but this figure is not stamped...
English. C1800-20.
