About this item
AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER
RUSTIC PATTERN
Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery
Staffordshire England
c. 1886
This Victorian aesthetic platter is 12 3/8 " long x 8 7/8 "wide and is transfer printed in dark brown.
The pattern features two birds in flight over an urn filled with cherry blossom flowers. Exotic fruit and red raspberries along with a multitude of flowers frame the aesthetic cartouche of a distant country landscape. Wonderful geometric designs complete the platter.
Spectacular, never used.
