About this item
A superb quality, 19th century steel chopper with a bronze and wood handle. This is stamped, in the steel blade, “BRADES CO CAST STEEL”. Brades Co were based in Oldbury in the West Midlands and have a history of making cutting tools of all types which goes back into the 18th century. This is a beautifully made piece with an ornate bronze and turned wood handle. Everything about the chopper exudes quality and it is also very attractive.
It dates from c.1850 and is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Width 21.6cm. Height 15cm. Diameter of handle 3cm.
