About this item
A 19th century, bubble and squeak chopper. Bubble and squeak consisted of the left over potatoes and vegetables which were fried up together. This type of chopper was shaped liked this so that you could chop the ingredients over the edge of the frying pan. This example is made from wrought iron and the handle, which has a lined design, is turned from oak. It is English and it dates from c.1860.
There is slight pitting to the blade, commensurate with age and use, otherwise it is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Length 27cm. Height 10cm. Diameter of handle 3cm.
