About this item
A miniature, cast iron charcoal iron. It is very unusual to find this type of iron in such a small size. The front of the iron is pinned and this pin is removed to open the top of the iron. The charcoal is then placed into the iron to heat it and the steam is released through the chimney. There is a tin heat shield to protect your hand from the heat whilst ironing and the piece has a turned wooden handle. There is a makers name on the heat shield but it is worn and difficult to make out.
It is is very good condition and it dates from c. 1860.
Dimensions: Length 9.6cm. Width 5.5cm. Height 11.6cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Western Europe add £10.
