A superb British Royal Navy Leather Cordite Carrier. Made from leather, this Royal Navy leather cordite carrier features the Royal Coat Of Arms, with a cylindrical body boasting nicely weathered patina to the leather and a large leather handle attached with brass fittings, the underside of the base is stamped No.58 III BH & G.Ltd. 2 - 1937. Created in England, made to carry cordite and also known as a Clarkson case. C1937
These were made to carry cordite, and were flash proof containers for bag charges (cartridges) the charges were placed into these containers before they left the magazines.
This Cordite is in lovely condition and would make an exquisite addition to any home, perhaps used as an umbrella or stick stand.
