A completely authentic and original HM Queen Elizabeth II Coronation stool as used by the congregation
during the ceremony in Westminster Abbey
on 2 June1953
Dimensions:
Height 48cm; Width 46cm; Depth 31cm
Limed oak legs and frame. Original upholstery in royal blue velvet, trimmed with gold braid. The underside bears the maker's stamp “GLENISTER / MAKER / WYCOMBE” and "53" with the additional brands of the crowned "ER" cypher with and "CORONATION" with various pencil numbers.
Condition:
A completely authentic coronation stool as commissioned by the Clerk of Works for the Coronation. With its original velvet upholstery in good general condition. The usual wear and fading as expected for this item in good condition.
