A Superb Victorian W.Install Portmanteau Travel Trunk. Beautifully made with English full leather hide, with brass detailing to the handle, and a leather strap, this trunk has a unique drop front and the top is completely removable. Insall Bristol is stamped on the sides, the inside contains the original lining and the makers label. W.Insall. 19 & 20 St Augustines Parade. There is visible wear to the interior, but this does not detract from the quality of this superb leather travel trunk. C1880
Established in 1829, W.Insall was a highly regarded company making luggage and trunks in the Victorian and Edwardian periods, with many different styles of luggage including portmanteaus, cricket bags, hunting bags and ladies handbags, W.Insall and Sons became a popular shopping destination for men and women.
This trunk could add character to any home, being this versatile this can be used for any kind of storage and would not look out of place in any home, or as a fantastic shop display piece.
