Victorian Pine Blanket Box

This is a lovely Victorian stripped pine blanket box. It has been stripped and not polished so it remains as natural naked wood - this is so it can be left as is, painted or waxed depending on your preference. It is a good size and stands on a plinth which has scalloped edges for interest. It dates to around 1860-80 and is in good condition. It has a hinged lid and metal carrying handles. These are not original but are antique, they are Edwardian and are prettier than the original ones would have been as these would have been plain iron. The box is in good order, it stands nice and level, the joints are good, it has no looseness or wobbles and the lid is well attached and opens and closes as it should.
