About this item
Simple yet stunning rare chrome desk lamp, attributed to Cedric Hartman.
USA born Hartman (1929) began as an architect in the late 1940s until he was called for service during the Korean War. After this, he spent some time soaking up the art and design culture of Chicago, going on to design his first lamps in the early 60s.
Hartman's ultimate goal was: see the light, not the source. He recognized the need for unimposing, ambient light. At night, it serves its purpose. During the day, you appreciate it only if you notice it.
This triangular prismatic piece is a perfect example of just that.
Back of arch to front of shade - 55 cm
Height - 35 cm
See last photo for additional mid century lighting in our collection and also listed on our page.
