About this item
A match holder and strike in the form of a charming miniature Victorian style fireplace. In the tradition of salesmen's samples, it was made by Ballard & Bailey in the second half of the 20th century as a promotional item to advertise their fireplaces. It is made of cast iron and the Ballard & Bailey name is relief moulded into the back of the grate. There is a space at the front to hold matches and two strike plates on the back.
