About this item
This vintage Banjara textile is a gala which is part of a headdress used for carrying water. It hangs down the back of the neck and is used to show off the woman's needlework skills. The gala is embroidered thickly in cotton and is adorned with mirrors and cowrie shells. This gala also has tiny little bobbles between the cowries which are adorable! I have mounted it on a frame over stretched canvas, on vintage citrine coloured hemp. It makes a very interesting piece of wall art.
When hanging small canvases I use the Command Canvas Hooks which are very simple to use. You don't need a fixing on the back of the frame and they don't damage the wall.
