About this item
These cuhsions are made from a mid century aso oke from the Yoruba tribe of West Africa. The aso oke is made from handwoven strips measuring approx 4" wide that are sewn together to make a larger cloth. The weave is decorated with lace holes and supplementary floating weft stitches. The textile has a lot of texture, coming from the unbleached hand spun cotton and the browner hand spun threads of wild silk. This provides lots of lovely sub and character. Ive used the aso oke for both sides of the cushions, and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
