About this item
Circa 1840-50s block printed cotton mezzarro border originally part of a large shawl from Genoa, Italy. Large scale flowers in shades of raspberry pink amongst green leaf foliage between small sections of landscape.Loosely stitched onto a turqoise cotton and finished with red fringing.
In a good but as found condition the border sky background is a lovely soft slightly uneven bisque due to sun eposure.
