    About this item

A fabulous set of six, 18th century, turned sycamore plates. Sometimes referred to as trenchers or platters, these date from c.1780. Each one is beautifully warped with age and they are incredibly light, where the wood has dried out over the centuries. They are in remarkable condition for plates of this period. Each one has numerous knife marks and scratches but there are no splits in the wood and no restoration. They all have a lovely honey coloured patina.

    English. Date c.1780.

Dimensions: Each plate approximately: Diameter 28cm. Depth 2.5cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £20.
