About this item
This Georgian tea caddy is veneered with a geometric pattern done with rosewood and boxwood to create a very striking item. Internally the lids to the two compartments are also veneered with rosewood and boxwood and the compartments have retained a lot of the original zinc lining. It measures 207 mm (8 1/8 th inches) in width, 118 mm (4 5/8 ths inches) in depth and stands 130 mm (5 1/8 th inches) high. Interestingly, for a time when tea was still very expensive, there is no lock. It has retained its original patina and is in very good condition. The paper lining to the inside of the lid is a replacement. C 1820.
