    About this item

This is a real first for me....a rare hand held mid 19thc corncrake call....it is made from finest fruitwood (cherry) and you turn the wheel clockwise which makes the wooden spring click as the wheel is turned, which sounds just like the real corncrake....I haven't seen or heard any corncrakes come to the call yet, but here in the wilds of Cambridgeshire they are very scarce....the bird call is in excellent working condition with a good natural colour that fruitwood always goes.

    English. C1840-60.
