About this item
Antique early 19thc boxwood & walnut pipe...it is in the form of a gentleman's boot and has the most wonderful colour...there would have been a clay or hollowed out briar used for the long body of the pipe , which would have been easily replaceable and the pipe bowl is made from figured walnut and the boot from boxwood...it is threaded and still unscrews for ease of cleaning......it has been used many times, but remains in excellent condition, although you can still smell the tobacco from a long time ago...which is pleasing when you think it hasn't been used in a long time..!
English. / French C1820-40.
