    About this item

An unusual, carved wooden tray dating from c.1900. This is French and it is signed by the carver “Michel”. It was probably carved as a tray for serving bread with the figures to either end representing the baker and his wife. The figures are well carved and they are full of character. The tray sits very neatly in the hands and there are cut outs under the heads so that when you put the tray down your hands are kept clear of the table. The piece would make a charming addition, and a talking point, at any table.

There is a small chip to the rim of the bakers hat but otherwise the piece is in very good condition and the wood has a rich patina.

    Dimensions: Length 61.5cm. Width 26cm. Height 10.2cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
