    About this item

    A nineteenth century, lignum vitae case for sewing machine needles. The top of the case has a brass cap which shows the different sizes of the sewing machine needles around which is “WHEELER & WILSON SEWING MACHINE NEEDLES”. Wheeler and Wilson started making sewing machines in 1853 and continued until the company closed in 1905. This needle case would date from c.1860. They interior is split into seven sections to contain the different sized needles. There is a piece of the foot of the case missing and this can be seen in the images. Otherwise it is in good condition.

    Dimensions: Height 6.7cm. Diameter 2.5cm.
