    About this item

A plain, 19th century, wooden butter board. Butter boards were used for working the butter on, when forming it into blocks. Due to their nature, and lack of decorative appeal, they were often discarded when dairies stopped using them. That is such a shame as this one is so tactile. It is carved in sycamore and dates from c.1830. The wood has a beautiful, pale patina.

Condition: There are a number of woodworm holes and there are a couple of small stains.

    Dimensions: Length 27.7cm. Width 10.2cm. Depth 0.9cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £15. Most of Western Europe add £8
