    About this item

A very fine Tunbridge Ware stickwork walking cane with balloon shaped pommel, dating to around the 1860s. The pommel is made of stickwork, a form of parquetry where sticks of different woods were stuck together and the resulting block was then turned. The pommel of this stick is probably made of ebony and satinwood. The shaft is probably mahogany, with a metal ferrule at the end.

The stick is in good condition with attractive aged patina.
