    About this item

A pair of large plumber's turnpins dating to the late 19th century. They are made of turned solid wood - the tallest of the two is probably boxwood, and the smaller lignum vitae. These tools were used by plumbers and pipefitters to shape lead pipes. These examples are particularly large and sculptural. They have an attractive aged and untouched patina, and have a real tactile appeal.

The tallest measures 30cm tall by 11.5cm across the base; the other 21.5cm tall by 12cm across.

In good original condition with expected signs of wear.
