About this item
Fine French Art Deco pottery majolica glazed art pottery vase decorated with floral designs by Longwy and dating from around 1920. The earthenware vase stands raised on three small scroll legs with a wide round urn shaped body and is extensively decorated with incised trailing floral designs on scrolling stems and thickly hand painted in brightly colored enamels against a turquoise blue ground with dark blue glazed legs and top rim. The inner vase and base are decorated in white glazes with printed Longwy France marks to the base and incised number 1265 and painted design number 52.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
