    This is an antique decorative mirror. An English, gilt gesso and glass art frame, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1900. 

    Fascinating antique frame, formerly used to house exhibited art Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Bold gilt gesso frame shows appealing weathered hues Later mirror plate free of marks and offers a bright reflective appearance Prominent corners decorated with scrolled leaf detail Dressed to the rear with a hanging wire for ease of mounting Artist's detail by David Cox (1915 - 1979), of Porthmeor Studio, St. Ives, Cornwall Remnants of Royal Academy Exhibition labels add further interest

    This is a charming antique mirror with decorative appeal and art world provenance to the reverse. The late mirror plate presents beautifully. Delivered polished and ready to mount.
