19th century Victorian antique walnut davenport desk

A superb walnut davenport desk from the 19th century.

The attractive piece features a sloped leather writing top which opens to reveal a clean compartment area with four small drawers.

It has a small bank of four drawers to its right side, as well as a "secret drawer" which can be opened from inside the lift up top, making it ideal for storing valuables.

The drawers on the left side are dummy drawers and do not open.

The castors on the bottom allow for ease of movement and the decorative carved corbels to its front add an extra touch of class.

In good condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use including some knocks and chips. There is some bubbling to the veneer as evidenced in the pictures and the top railings appear to have been glued at some point in time. The lock does not work and there is some damage to one of the knobs.
