About this item
Antique Victorian metal campaign washstand in original scumble painted finish.
The top lifts up to reveal a Villeroy & Boch Dresden wash bowl. The bowl is fitted with original brass plug on chain, and is beautifully decorated with birds, trailing vines and berries.
There are two slender full length drawers above a single cupboard door.
The cupboard has a small brass handle formed as a hand holding a bar.
The whole washstand is raised on lion paw feet.
The original brown scumble paint is nicely time worn. The painted surface applied to give the impressive of wood grain.
Originally these would have been used within the home aswel as on expeditions etc. A perfect piece to use in a holiday rental or guest room. An ideal washstand for bathroom.
Given its size and low weight this could be repurposed for use on a narrow boat.
