About this item
This is an early gilt metal seal. The top of the seal is in the form of a cherub sitting on abed of roses holding a bouquet. The red wax backed clear glass stone, is engraved with a sheaf of wheat and the words “You deserve thrashing”. Considering how all other examples of these early seals have romantic or sweet sentiments, this seal has raised a few eyebrows and the inference is not entirely clear. The seal measures 21mm x 15mm and is in 95% mint condition.
