    About this item

This is a Victorian gilt metal pocket watch key which was made circa 1850

The gilt metal key is a round shaped and set with a domed opaque white stone on one side and a high gloss domed orange red hard stone on the other

The key has a carved shank. Where there should normally be a suspension loop a swivel seal has been added. This has a white stone on one side and a glass backed orange glass stone on the other.

The key has a steel winding end which is a size 2-3 and is covered with a gilt sleeve.

    The key measures 44mm x 15mm x 13mm

The key is in 90% mint condition – the carving and detailing are crisp but there is some small areas of tarnish and loss of gilding
