    About this item

A rare and unusual early 19th century (circa 1830) yew wood wheelback Windsor chair with excellent patina (colour), probably from the Thames Valley region - ADDITIONAL IMAGES CAN BE VIEWED BELOW:

This chair consists of a hoop back with scribed edge and central pierced splat with wheel design and turned spindles to either side leading down to an unusual well figured solid elm seat of circular form.

The chair is supported by turned legs to the front and back all supported by a crinoline stretcher.

This chair is in very good condition for age with evidence of some old repairs (which is to be expected), is of stable construction and can go straight into a home or collection.
