Rare blue opal champagne glass the bowl with optical ribbing Designed by Harry Powell Whitefriars c1880.
Condition: Very good condition.
Rim: 9.6 cm.
Foot: 7 cm.
Note: Blue opal is a pale milky blue heat-sensitive opalescent glass with graduated colouring. Produced from 1877 until around 1914 Blue opal glass was used for tableware, ornamental glass and lamp shades. Judging by its greater rarity, blue opal was not made in such large numbers as straw opal.
