About this item
Fine rummer the ovoid bowl with wrythen moulding English c1790.
Bowl dia: 10.6 cm.
Foot dia: 9 cm.
Condition: Very good with no chips or cracks or evidence of restoration.
Illustrated in 'Rummers' A social History Told in Glass by Timothy Mills 2013, p. 29, fig 27.
Note: Wrythen rummers are quite rare. The wrythen moulding is said to disguise the sediment that was common in ales at the time.
